2026 DFW planning guide
How much does artificial turf cost in Dallas–Fort Worth?
Many straightforward residential installations are discussed in an approximate $8–$15 per-square-foot planning range, but small, difficult or highly designed projects can fall outside it.
Planning range, not a quote: The property, contractor, product and scope determine actual pricing. Always compare written scopes—not just headline square-foot rates.
| Project type | Early planning consideration |
|---|---|
| Simple residential lawn | Often starts near the lower-to-middle part of the market range when access and demolition are straightforward. |
| Small or narrow area | May carry a higher effective square-foot price because mobilization, cuts and minimum labor still apply. |
| Pet turf | Drainage, deodorizing materials and infill choices can increase scope. |
| Putting green | Contours, cups, fringe, chipping areas and specialty surfaces make pricing design-dependent. |
| Repair or cleaning | Usually evaluated by condition, access and treatment—not new-install square footage alone. |
The biggest cost variables
- Project size, shape, waste and installation access
- Demolition, excavation, disposal and base depth
- Drainage correction, grading and outlets
- Turf product, face weight, backing and infill
- Pets, fall protection, sports performance or specialty design
- Curves, trees, drains, pavers, seams and perimeter details
How to compare estimates
Ask each provider to identify what will be removed, the planned base material and depth, drainage assumptions, exact turf product, infill type and quantity, edge method, disposal, warranty and exclusions. Two proposals with the same total square footage may describe very different systems.
